The maid of honor in my wedding was getting married on the 19
th. We decided to fly in the day before in case we had trouble with Kelby. Up at the crack of dawn, and purposely not fed before leaving, we arrived at the airport ready for our 7 o'clock flight. We made it through security with no problems, except for the fact that the stroller had to go through the x-ray machine (good thing it was just an umbrella stroller).
Now, the moment of truth...we are sitting on the airplane. She wasn't all that fidgety. She did however want to read the newspaper that the guy beside me was trying to read. She finally started getting crazy right when it was about time to take off. I asked the guy beside me if he minded if I nursed her (he said no, but his eyes said yes). As I nursed her, she passed out and was asleep for the whole flight. This was her MO for all the flights (we had two layovers in all). Then there was the last leg of the trip home from
atlanta to
greensboro. I assumed since she'd slept on the three other flights she'd sleep on this flight too. WRONG!! It didn't help that the older couple behind us kept playing with her over the top of my seat. Since the flight wasn't full,
chris was allowed to move to another seat. The flight attendant was still mean and wouldn't let Kelby sit in Chris's seat. I guess they mean it when they say the infant has to ride in your lap. It was
ridiculous, the plane was in the air, that seat wasn't in danger of being sold!
Anyway, all in all it was great. She did great, and made a ton of friends on all of our flights. I think she was the only baby that never made a peep...except to laugh at something.
